The Place For The Latest Movie Reviews
Cast: Carlos Alazraqui ("Rocko's Modern Life", Spyro the Dragon, "The Fairly OddParents") co-wrote the film and stars, alongside fellow voice actors Tara Strong ("Teen Titans", "Rugrats", "The Powerpuff Girls"), and Maurice LaMarche ("Pinky and the Brain", "Futurama", "Hey Arnold")
'Witness Infection' tells the story of two rival mob families who are both put on the witness protection program but are placed in the same city. Life changes forever for Carlo when he is forced to marry the daughter if the rival gang to keep peace. But he catches a break when tainted sausage’s sparks a zombie apocalypse. Now Carlo won't have to get married but he also may not make it through the night alive.
Zombie movies are a dime a dozen and so are zombie/comedies but what makes this one a bit different is they toss in the mob.'Witness Infection' was written by Carlos Alazraqui and Jill-Michele Melean and it was directed by Andy Palmer who takes the script and runs with it creating a perfect mix of horror and comedy. If I had one complaint it would be that it takes a while before we get down to the zombie action but once it does there is an endless supply of laughter and good , gooey kills all the way to the end. The film also sets itself up for a sequel and I for one would be up for it.
The cast is another great part of the film, Carlos Alazraqui ("Rocko's Modern Life", Spyro the Dragon, "The Fairly OddParents"), Tara Strong ("Teen Titans", "Rugrats", "The Powerpuff Girls"), and Maurice LaMarche ("Pinky and the Brain", "Futurama", "Hey Arnold") all of which are fantastic voice actors.
'Witness Infection' doesn't break any new ground but it is one of the better zombie/comedies I have seen in some time. I loved the total chessiness including the fake blood spraying and the practical effects which were a load of fun. If you are looking for some zombie action with some laughs then look no further and check out 'Witness Infection' when it comes out across North America on Digital HD and Cable VOD on March 30.
