WARDEN explores the real-world impact of an ordinary kid who discovers he has superpowers and decides he can save his ailing city and further impact the lives of those forever changed by the rise of the world's first superhero.

'Warden' is from director Marcus Alqueres with a story from Jeff Juhasz. It tells the story of a young boy who discovers he has superpowers at a very young age. It shows his early desire to just do good for the people before all the corrupt officials and the rich look to take advantage of him for their own gain. Shot in a documentary style, the film tells Warden's story through the eyes of the media and the public that loves him and those who personally know him. We learn where his mysterious powers may have come from, and we watch as even he changes under the influences of others.

This is a very well-made superhero film, but under all that, it is a film about corruption, greed, and all our human instincts, both good and bad. 'Warden' in a lot of ways seems like news ripped straight from our headlines today. From believing everything you hear or read and the huge influence social media has on the general public and those who use lies and deception to gain power and make their own rules.

The cast did a fantastic job playing their roles, including Giovanni de Lorenzi (‘Warden’), Alli Willow (‘Katarina Legero’), Antonio Saboia (‘Romeu Filho’), Kukassa Kabengele (‘Davi Lopes’), James Turpin (‘Andy Baltz’), and Nathalia Florentino (‘Alana Sati’). The effects are well done, and the story is full of food for thought, and it relates to everything that is going on right before our eyes. I found the film to be both entertaining and a bit of a wake-up call for those turning a blind eye to what is happening in our world today.

'Warden' will be released on North American VOD platforms and DVD on March 14, 2025. It makes for a good "what if," and it is also an engaging drama about the dangers that surround us every day.
