The Place For The Latest Movie Reviews
Cast: Trevor Trout, Skyler Caleb, Brooke Marks
Millions watched in horror as popular and sexy ‘vlogger’ Brooke Marks was murdered on camera during one of her live webcasts. Her body was never found. But what happened in the weeks before might be the most depraved crimes of all.
These are the days and nights leading up to Brooke’s brutal death: Her casual hook-ups with various guys. Her cruel put-downs of other women. And the faceless cyber-stalker who forces Brooke to watch as those closest to her are systematically tortured, slaughtered and defiled. Experience the feature film version of the online sensation that shocked the world.
VLOG is a groundbreaking extreme-horror film about a real-life webcam girl (Brooke Marks) whose online murder is not what it seems. There's not really anything new here, the whole internet idea of girls going missing have been done before so I myself would not call the film ground-breaking my any means. The film has a few good things going for it and a few not so good things. First the not so good, the webcam girl, Brooke isn't someone you feel for, I mean she uses people and to me she is just too artificial. Since it is so obvious I would guess the film makers wanted the character to be this way but it does get in the way of having any feeling for her once her friends start to turn up dead. Another problem was the police who just didn't act very realistic.
Now on to the good stuff, the film contains enough gore to satisfy all fans and I did like the twist ending, it's one many will not seeing coming.
The film was made back in 2008 from the producers of "Saw" but don't get the idea that's what you're getting here because Vlog is nothing like it. I did like the film but in the end it wasn't anything mind-blowing and it wasn't different enough to be considered original. The film's main selling points have to be it's level of gore and the twist towards the end which I felt ultimately saved the film from getting a lower rating from me. I do recommend it to those out there that like their gore, it should make most of you very happy.
