The Place For The Latest Movie Reviews
Cast: Jeff Bridges, Garrett Hedlund, Olivia Wilde, Bruce Boxleitner
While investigating the mysterious disappearance of his father, Kevin (Jeff Bridges), techie Sam Flynn (Garrett Hedlund) lands in a beguiling computerized world of enslaved gladiators, where his dad has been living for more than 20 years. Joined by Kevin's trusted friend (Olivia Wilde), the father and son must journey across a breathtaking -- and perilous -- cyberscape in this 21st-century update to the beloved 1982 sci-fi classic.
The film's biggest attributes are it's special effects, I am sure this had to be something amazing to see in 3D, even thought I'm not a fan of all the 3D movies being made this is one that deserves to be seen in that format. The original film might seem dated now but when it first came out it was way ahead of it's time and "Tron Legacy" brings it into the 21st century in an amazing way. The cast does a terrific job, Garrett Hedlund is perfect as Kevin's son and Kim Wilde is also very good in the film. If was great to see they brought back Bruce Boxleitner as well and what would Tron be without Jeff Bridges, he is terrific as always as the younger, CGI version of himself and the older version as well. The story could of been a bit better but it fits in well with the effects, both work together to create a cyber universe that has to be seen to be believed.
"Tron Legacy" is a film that deserved to be seen on a big screen but it is a wonder to see on DVD and Blu-ray as well. The film is available on Blu-ray 3D™, Blu-ray™, DVD, Digital Copy, Movie Download and On-Demand. Sure to light-up fans this Spring, TRON: Legacy provides consumers with the ultimate Hi-Def Blu-ray experience with breathtaking 1080p visuals and superior 7.1 surround sounds that bring to life the visually stunning world of TRON. Taking you further behind the grid, are also in-depth bonus features on the making of the film (i.e., creating the futuristic vehicles and world of TRON, storyline mythologies, actors/characters and more) and the all-new Disney Second Screen interactive experience.
