A highly contagious biological weapon, created by German forces in WWI, is discovered by Allied troops as they explore an abandoned underground bunker. Realizing they need to contain and destroy the threat, their mission becomes a fight for survival when one of their own is infected by the deadly parasite and begins to violently attack them. The soldiers now need to not only save themselves, but must stop the outbreak before it spreads to the rest of the world.
It is WWI and the end seems to be coming soon but when a maze of German underground bunkers are discovered in an unlikely location a team on Canadian and U.S. soldiers are sent to investigate them and destroy whatever remains. Shortly after arriving the six man team soon finds out that they are dealing with a deadly parasite. Now the men deal with not only the infected but also a group of German soldiers who have been sent to destroy the bunkers as well.
'Trench 11' is one of several bunker horror films that has been made but I don't think any of the others have done it this well. For starters the film looks amazing with its snow-covered landscapes and the never-ending maze of bunkers that creates the perfect atmosphere and mood. Another thing that made the film so good as the cast including, Rossif Sutherland, Robert Stadlober and Charlie Carrick. All of them give solid and believable performances.
Director, Leo Scherman is no stranger to horror since he worked under the great, David Cronenberg and this film shows he paid attention and learned his craft really well. Scherman does a great job keeping the suspense and tension high while keeping the film moving at a nice pace and the body count high. The film is very violent at times as well and the effects are top notch.
A high sense of dread, brutal violence and awesome special effects makes this an intense and entertaining roller coaster ride that will have you on the edge of your seat the entire time. 'Trench 11' is a well-done horror film that delivers on story, characters, acting and on horror and action. If you are a fan of horror then you need to check this one out. 'Trench 11' will be available on VOD, Digital and DVD on September 4, 2018.
