The Place For The Latest Movie Reviews
Cast: Dave Sheridan, Joey Oglesby, Tim Ogletree
A month into the zombie apocalypse, a group of survivors, including four who "for safety reasons" go by the names of their favorite cities--Green Bay, Chicago, Brooklyn, and Harlem--a Sheriff fresh off a nice, relaxing, six-week coma, his small-business-owner 10 year old son, and a voiceover-prone zombie, Romeo, who has convinced the group that he's not dead, just a little slow, are forced from the safety of their mall-camp in hopes of finding a rumored safe-haven.
I am sure that a lot of people are sick of zombies by now but just in case you are not here is "The Walking Deceased." And in case you do not already know it is a parody on "The Walking Dead" TV series.
Parodies use to be popular and funny way back when the first "Scary Movie" came out but I cannot remember the last one I liked so I went into this one with low expectations. The film starts off with some funny scenes, sure the movie is dumb but that is the whole point here. I admit to getting a few really good laughs in early on but somewhere around the halfway point the film begins to fall flat.
The film contained a few funny characters and some of the humor was solid early on but it was never able to sustain itself. I have seen worse parodies before but I have seen better as well. If you are a fan of "The Walking Dead" or zombie movies in general I recommend checking it, just do not expect a laugh a minute fun fest here.
Available on DVD now, you can order it HERE.
The cast did a good job playing their outrageous characters and they looked like they had fun doing so and the film also contained a good bit of zombie violence as well which mixed in well with the comedy so it is not all bad, I found it to be an average a parody that I got some laughs from.
