An apocalyptic event known as The Crisis has devastated David's world leaving him to rely on survival tactics learned from childhood. Isolated and alone, David has taken refuge in a tent on the edge of the wilderness. Soon enough, another survivor emerges, Mary, who immediately begins questioning David's tactics and ultimately putting them in the crosshairs of "Those Who Walk In Darkness", unseen creatures that may or may not be responsible for The Crisis.

'The Tent' tells the story of David, an older man living in the wilderness all alone after an apocalyptic event known as The Crisis. David is 73 years old and is beginning to slip a bit both mentally and psychically. One day while out checking his traps he accidentally steps into one. Hurt and all alone a young woman happens to be nearby and comes to his rescue. David doesn't seem all that grateful, in fact he tells her she can't come in his tent even though there are creatures that roam the night looking for prey. Mary tries to explain to David that they are better off leaving the tent because the creatures are close and David needs medical attention for the foot but before long Mary must decide to leave David alone and seek help or stick by him in hopes of a miracle.

'The Tent' is a drama/thriller from Writer/Director, Kyle Couch. It is more a character driven drama than anything else. How the world ended up in this crisis is never explained and the creatures are never shown but sometimes less is more and Couch does a great job of created tension and suspense as the film moves alone. The tension center around David and Mary as she tries to get through to him but his old ways almost always cause an argument.

As the film moves along and the suspense builds you know something is going to what but what? Well towards the end of the film you get your answer and its a brilliant twist you will never see coming. It is also a heart breaking twist that will leave you both shocked and sad.

'The Tent' is a low budget film that relies on its amazing story and its lead actors. Tim Kaiser and Lulu Dahl give award worthy performances. They have great chemistry and you care for the both of them right from the story.

Writer/Director, Kyle Couch does a fantastic job telling their story. He even uses some flashbacks to fill the audience in on the back story. This is a terrific drama/thriller that deserves to be seen. It is a gem of an Indie film that I highly recommend checking out. 'The Tent' is available on VOD and on DVD and Blu-ray at Target.
