South Korea: Geumcheon Police’s Major Crimes Unit is given a mission to repatriate a fugitive who fled to Vietnam. Beast cop Ma Seok-do (Don LEE) and Capt. Jeon Il-man (CHOI Gwi-hwa) intuitively realize that there’s something wrong with the suspect’s willingness to turn himself in and uncover a series of crimes committed by a terrifying killer named Kang Hae-sang (SON Sukku). Detective Ma and his unit begin their investigation across two countries and follow the bloody breadcrumbs left behind by Kang.
'The Roundup' is the sequel to "The Outlaws" from 2017. If you never watched the first film you can still want this one because it has its on story. The most important thing is that Ma Dong-seok (Don Lee) is back as the bad ass detective taking down the bad guys again.
The film doesn't waste anytime getting started and there is action from the beginning to the end. If I had one complaint it would be that most of the brutal killings and blood shed are done off camera but the fights scenes are very well done.Technically the film is superb in every aspect which is something we have come to expect from Korean Cinema.
The action scenes are brutal and well done and the film even has its fair share of humorous moments that make it a fun, adrenaline pumping ride. I was hooked right from the start and I loved all the good characters and the main villain was amazing and scary.
If you like a good action film then I highly recommend picking it up on Blu-ray when it comes out on 12/13. The film comes in its original language with English subtitles and a English dubbed track as well. Released by Capelight Pictures
