The Place For The Latest Movie Reviews
Cast: Ed Skrein, Karel Roden, Stanley Weber, Dave Legeno
From the creator of HAMMER OF THE GODS, starring Stanley Weber (“Borgia”) and Annabelle Wallis (ANNABELLE) comes the story of a Norman prince, freed from slavery, who seeks revenge on his father's murderer –his ruthless uncle, Earl Durant (Karel Roden). Gaining the trust of a band of exiled farmers, he leads them into battle against Durant, exploiting them in his quest to satisfy his code of honor. Will the prince sacrifice everything and everyone to quench his thirst for bloody retribution?
I am not going to sit here and add to the synopsis above because the story line is simple enough and me adding more will only give away more of what happens in the film. "Sword of Vengeance" is a mix of good and not so good. First the good stuff, I thought the acting was very good from everyone in the film and the action was good and at times very brutal and bloody. I also thought the cinematography and the sets were both excellent as well. The not so good was the film's pace which could of been a been faster, the film seemed to drag a bit at times because it. And I thought the characters could of been more developed, it was hard to care for any of them because you never get to really know their background. The story itself could of been fleshed out a bit more as well but that was the least of the problems for me.
If you like these kind of medieval Action/Adventure films then I recommend checking it out just do not expect anything great here and you should be fine.
