The Place For The Latest Movie Reviews
When three very different people from three completely different worlds begin a deadly game of Russian Roulette, they soon discover that their pasts are a trilogy of overlapping events that have brought them together for one last session of group therapy.
"Roulette" is a very difficult film to talk about without ruining the surprises that await those wanting to see this award winning film. I can give you a little more plot detail without creating spoilers, the film centers on three people, Dean Jensen, Richard Kessler, and Sunny Howard. Each one is having a hard time dealing with problems in their lives, they meet at a support group for suicidal people. One day the three decide to meet at one of their houses to put an end to their misery by playing a deadly game of Russian roulette. As the game moves along we get to see what happened to each of them that led to them all to this dark place.
This is an amazing film that gets you involved right from the start of the film, you are immediately drawn into the lives of these three people. You have feelings for them right from the start and those emotions get stronger as the film moves along and secrets are revealed. The film starts off as a straight drama about three very depressed people but there are plenty of twists and turns along the way that changes everything. An engaging, thought-provoking masterpiece that is full of drama and suspense made better by a few mind blowing twists that will leave you amazed and in shock.
The film is a winner in everyway. For starters the acting in the film is awesome, Mike Baldwin, Will Haza and Ali Lukowski are spectacular as the film's three lead characters and the rest of the supporting cast all did a wonderful job as well. But these amazing performances would be nothing without Writer/Director, Erik Kristopher Myers who wrote this incredible tension filled, mind blowing story and his direction was flawless. Production wise the film looks and sounds terrific.
This is one film you want everyone to know about but it is also an easy film to ruin if you say too much so try not to read too many reviews for the film so not to spoil it before seeing it. "Roulette" is not an easy film to watch at times but in the end it is a film experience we rarely get to see anymore. This is not only one of the best Indie films I have ever seen but it is one of the best films period. A film that sucks you in right from its opening frames and it leaves you with your jaw dropped by the time the credits roll. It will leave you thinking about it for days and you will run to tell your friends and family, hell you will be tell total strangers about this triumph in cinema.
