James and Blake, small-time criminals, flee the police and take refuge in an abandoned scientific facility. Their attempt to restore power activates an AI, DOROTHY, responsible for the former occupants' demise. They realize their predicament is worse than evading the law; they must use their streetwise instincts to thwart DOROTHY's escape into the world.
We witnessed a huge jump in A.I. technology and usage in 2023. But let me introduce to you 'Project Dorothy' a what if A.I. grew smart enough to become dangerous and to threaten mankind. The film tells the story of James and Blake, two men who rob a bank for the contains of one of its security boxes which happens to be a laptop. On the run the two decide to enter an abandoned warehouse that was close years ago due a tragic event that took place there during a secret project. Hiding from the police will be the least of their problems after they step inside and a new enemy emerges.
Project Dorothy is a indie film that makes the most of what it has to work with including the abandoned warehouse, the cast which includes, Tim DeZarn and Adam Budron as James and Blake and the always amazing Danielle Harris as the voice of Dorothy. Director, George Henry Horton does a great job keeping the suspense high the script by himself and Ryan Scaringe. George Henry Horton does a great job of spoon feeding the back stories on the two men and what happened all those years ago inside the facility which keeps you engaged and on the edge of your seat the entire time. The run time of an hour and 20 mines is ideal and the film never once gets boring.
Project Dorothy is a fast paced and entertaining Science Fiction Thriller that everyone will enjoy so be sure to check it out when it comes to Cable VOD and Digital HD Across the US & Canada January 16, 2024.
