A teenage girl realizes she must commit horror movie sins such as drink alcohol, do drugs, and have sex to lure a killer and finish him off.

"Night of the Slasher" tells the story of Jenelle, what a sexy opening as she strips down to her panties but as the camera makes its way up we get the shock of our lives. And then the story settles in. Jenelle has a Horror Movie Sins list that she feels she must complete in order to lure a serial killer into her home in hopes of having a final battle with him. For good measure she calls over a friend to complete the list and to use him as bait.

"Night of the Slasher" is the newest Short Film from Writer/Director, Shant Hamassian and he has certainly opened a lot of eyes with this one. The film is being considered for an Oscar Nomination, yes you read that right. That fact alone got my attention right away and I could not wait to sit down and watch this much talked about horror short. And now after having the pleasure of seeing the film I can say, WOW was I blown away. I loved the film's opening as any man will but I loved the rest of the film as well.

For starters, Lily Berlina is beyond fantastic as Jenelle, she is beautiful and sexy but she also brings her character to life in amazing ways without uttering one word. Her character is wounded both physically and emotionally but she is a bad ass at the same time. The film itself takes the slasher genre and it brings originality back to it. It's full of tension, scares, suspense, kick ass fight scenes and it also makes you think. I am not going to give a way anything about the film here so not to ruin it for those waiting and wanting to see it but I say that it is epic and shooting the film in one take was genius.

"Night of the Slasher" clocks in at a little over 11 minutes, it takes full advantage of every second and you will be holding your breath the entire time. There's plenty of horror here but there is also a bit of humor as well and I have to say I thought the killer's mask was brilliant. In fact Brilliant about sums up the entire film, its script, acting and direction. With over 90 film festivals under its belt the film has entertained so many horror fans but its journey is not over yet. I would love to see it get that Oscar Nomination but in my eyes it is already a winner.

I would like to congratulate the cast which consists of, Lily Berlina, Scott Javore, Adam Lesar, David Swann and Eve Constance, the crew and of course Writer/Director, Shant Hamassian for creating such a terrific film and restoring faith in the horror community. I recommend visiting the film's Facebook page HERE to find out when and where you can check out this gem. I simply loved this film from beginning to end and was left wanting so much more.
