San Francisco becomes a target for waves of destructive meteors after a rogue comet orbits the earth… For astronomer Michelle Young, what was meant to be a once-in-a-lifetime celestial event turns into her worst nightmare as thousands of meteors break the surface of the atmosphere and bombard the city of San Francisco.

The earth is in danger again, well at least San Francisco is as meteors have broken through the earth's atmosphere causing wide spread death and panic. Every disaster flick cliché ever imagined is on full display here but you know what? It didn't seem to really matter and I still found it to be a nice dose of light entertainment. Like any Syfy Channel movie you know what you're getting here and if you don't then you really can't complain since you should by now. The effects are average for and on par with any other movie the channel has aired in the past, some of the effects are bad while others are pretty good considering the budget.

The cast including Michael Trucco, Kari Matchett, Kirsten Prout and Eric Johnson all give good performances considering what they had to work with here. Like I said, what you see is what you get here but if you take it for what it is which to me was a good time waster then I think you will find it enjoyable as well, just don't expect some big blockbuster disaster film. With all the remakes and sequels going into theaters these days "Meteor Storm" even with it's stereotypical characters and implausible story is at least something different to watch which is never a bad thing.
