Cast: Thomas Sainsbury, Hayden J. Weal, Tawanda Manyimo
Ian, a man on the verge of a nervous breakdown, disappears from the world and takes a hike in the New Zealand wilderness. His efforts to avoid other hikers are futile and he is drawn into their worlds, but he can never shake the feeling that they are being stalked by someone, or something, sinister. As Ian’s paranoia grows, the other hikers become wary of him. He’s cagey about his past, he never sleeps, and his anxiety leads him to make concerning claims. Far from society, Ian starts to question his own sanity before plunging into a bloody battle for survival.
Be prepared to enter into the mind of someone who is afraid, paranoid and on the brink of a nervous breakdown. Thomas Sainsbury gives an amazing performance as the troubled Ian. He makes you believe that his character really has mental issues and you feel for him while being a bit cautious of what he might be capable of. It is obvious right from the start that Ian should not be going on a hike like this even for someone of sound mind who get get shaken but its isolation and dense bush. After meeting up with the annoying Nicky who is played by Hayden J. Weal. Together they meet with another couple as they navigate the trails to lead to lodging for them to settle in for the night.
Ian begins to let his surroundings it the best of his already fragile mind as the others begin to wonder if he is safe to be around. As he begins to suspect the are being followed start worrying about him and themselves.
'Loop Track' is an amazing film that generates a ton of suspense, fear, tension and suspense and mystery as it makes its way through its run time. Writer/Director, Thomas Sainsbury has created a must see thriller. He also plays Ian in the film and is definitely a very talented filmmaker and actor. The film doesn't supply some of the answers you might have questions to but it doesn't ever matter because you are on the edge of your seat the entire time trying to figure what what is going to happen. Gabriel Lunte, Jonathan Potton and Milon Tesiram also star in and give great performances.
'Loop Track is a film that got a lot of buzz about it and for good reason. You are sucked in to Ian's fragile world right from the start and are left thinking about it long after it is over. The film is mostly a slow burn but its never boring because in Ian's head there is always something happened. I highly recommend checking out this intense journey into madness and horror which will having you telling your friends and family about.
