The Place For The Latest Movie Reviews
Cast: Gina Carano, Cam Gigandet, Ismael Cruz Córdova, Luis Guzmán, Treat Williams
MMA star Gina Carano (Haywire, Fast and Furious 6) stars as Ava, a trained fighter with a dark past in this intense action/thriller from director John Stockwell (Blue Crush, Crazy/Beautiful). When her new husband (Cam Gigandet, Twilight) vanishes during their Caribbean honeymoon, Ava uncovers a violent underworld of conspiracy in the middle of an island paradise. Armed with a deadly set of skills, Ava sets out to discover the truth and to take down the men she thinks are responsible for her husband's abduction, one by one.
From beginning to end you can see why "In The Blood" was only given a limited theatrical release, it plays out like a straight to video title. Now do not get me wrong I enjoyed the film for what it was but there was nothing special about it.
The film stars MMA star Gina Carano, Stephen Lang and Danny Trejo. The plot is thin and the character development could of been a lot better which would of made the story more exciting since the audience would actually care about the characters but for an action film it does a good job and Gina Carano is exciting to watch.
Production is what you would expect from a low budget action film, it is good but nothing special and the sound is great. I was prepared to see a decent action film with the beautiful Carano kicking some major butt and that is what I got and nothing more. If you like a action that does not require you to think much then "In The Blood" is for you.
