The Place For The Latest Movie Reviews
Cast: Luke Goss, Caroline Tillette, Stephen Marcus
Silent. Relentless. No attachments. This is Viktor’s code. The mantra that took him from the slums of Romania to the pinnacle of his profession – as a murderer for hire. Viktor knows the value of life more than most, which makes him the perfect killer. But after a ruthless betrayal by his bosses, he escapes to London, joins a new “family,” and finds himself caught in a vicious underworld power struggle. Viktor is now better, faster and more ruthless than ever before, but an encounter with a dark beauty offers him a chance at new life. But can he ever hope to escape the ghosts- and buried secrets – of his past?
Viktor, a man for hire has decided to finally tell his story to a filmmaker. Viktor wants to just come clean and tell his story once and for all and the aging filmmaker is looking for a story that will give him one last shot at stardom. Viktor tells his story in full detail, from when he was first discovered as a young boy all the way to present day. As you watch the film you get the impression that Viktor is leaving no stone unturned but there are a few surprises along the way as well. To talk plot too much would only ruin some of the surprise that awit you along the way so I am not going to go any deeper here.
First time Writer/Director, Perry Bhandal does a terrific job telling Viktor's story in a way that engages the audience and it has you constantly wanting more. He also gets the most out of his cast, Luke Goss is as expected as Viktor, He gives a powerful and believable performance. The rest of the cast is made up of unknowns but everyone does a terrific job playing their roles.
Like any film this one isn't perfect, the story could of used a little TLC but for the most part it is a solid effort that keeps you thinking, interested and entertained. Considering the film's story-telling style I don't think it will be a film for everyone. If you say the word "Hitman" you normally think of a film that is action packed. This isn't one of those films, "Interview With a Hitman" is instead a more personal look at a natural born killer who has seen and lived it all who just wants to get it all off his chest. So if you're expecting loads of action and explosions I recommend looking elsewhere but if you're looking for something a bit different or if you're a fan of Independent cinema then I think this is a film for you. You get a little bit of everything here, action, suspense and plenty of drama making this a unique and enjoyable film.
