Scott, a neurotic man, who thinks he found a lump on his testicles and fears he might be dying, so he skips his friend's funeral. Instead, all in the course of a day, he quits his job; begs for a second chance at love; attempts to look death in the face and of course gets his prostate milked -- all in the name of ‘living life to the fullest.”

'Funeral Day' tells the story of Scott. As the film opens, we meet Scott who should be getting ready to go to one the funeral of one of his friends who died of cancer. Instead Scott is worried he might have Melanoma and half a dozen other ailments including a tumor in his testicles. So he decides he is going to live life to the fullest which includes proposing to his ex-girlfriend and having his prostrate milked. Scott seems to worry more about dying than he does living. Most call him a hypochondriac but he seems very sure that he is dying and wants to do everything he always wanted to do before it is too late.

I know, the film sounds like it could be a real downer but this comedy/drama from Director, Jon Weinberg and Writer, Kris Elgstrand is a very funny look at a serious problem and it does it without offending anyone or over looking the fact that we all need to take care of our health. In that aspect the film is very educational while still remaining light and entertaining.

Director, Jon Weinberg also stars in film as Scott. I think it might be a toss up whether he is a better Director or actor because he did a fantastic job on both sides of the camera. Weinberg isn't the only highlight though as far as the acting goes. Everyone in the film did a great job including, Tyler Labine, Suzy Nakamura and Jed Rees to name only a few.

I was hooked after watching the trailer and the film does not disappoint. It is at times dramatic but mostly it is just hilarious. If you like a good comedy, this is the film to see.

I needed 'Funeral Day' in my life and you do too so be sure to check it out when it comes to DVD, Digital and VOD on June 12, 2018. The film was made back in 2016 and I wonder what took it so long to get released but at least it finally is. 'Funeral Day' is sure to be a sleeper hit through strong word of mouth. I had a great time watching the film and I look forward to seeing what this talented film maker does next.
