The Place For The Latest Movie Reviews
Cast: Chanelle de Jager (Stroomop) and Gary Green (Escape Room)
In FRIED BARRY, Barry is a drug-addled degenerate who, after yet another bender, gets abducted by aliens. Barry takes a backseat as his alien visitor assumes control of his body and takes it for a joyride through Cape Town. What follows is an onslaught of drugs, sex and violence as Barry’s alien tourist enters the weird and wonderful world of humankind.
'Fried Barry' is one of those films you are going to get and like or simply find it a waste of your time. The over synopsis is about all you need to know about the film before watching it. Barry lives a simple life, he gets up and looks for ways to get high, goes home long enough to eat and is out again. The movie plays like one really long music video. It does have its fun moments as Barry the alien roams the city and night clubs beating various strange characters along the way.
The film is loud and there's a lot of flashing lights that are full of color. There isn't much as far as plot goes but the acting in the movie is all very good. 'Fried Barry' would be a blast watching it with a group of friends while downing some brews. To be it just got too boring as it moved along. I thought the short film was was based better in that it did not over stay its welcome. The film will be released on on VOD, Digital HD, DVD and Blu-Ray on October 5, 2021.
