Disgruntled hermit Reed lives a solitary life in the desert. After chasing away a group of youths trying to party near his home, Reed’s peaceful life is violently upheaved when a goup of savage cultists lay siege to his house.

NYPD veteran Mike and rookie Angela tackle a high-stakes day on New York's toughest streets, diving headfirst into a vortex of danger and action. Their adrenaline-fueled pursuits and unexpected threats unfold as they navigate perilous encounters. Amidst the chaos, intense challenges forge unbreakable bonds.

'First Shift' is the new film from Director, Uwe Boll. He doesn't have a very good track record of getting good reviews for his films and I think that will continue with this one. The film is a cop crime, drama and a NY detective who is forced to take on a new partner who happens to be female. It deals with their first shift together has the cruise the town and take on a few calls, one of which is trying to find the dog of a man you passed out in a store and was transported to a hospital. The other two incidents are not much more engaging.

Leads, Gino Anthony Pesi and Kristen Renton do their best but there isn't very much for them to work with here. But the worse part of it all is there is no action, suspense or tension.

I always try and find something good about a movie and was hoping for a bit of action towards the end then out of nowhere the film ends. I do not see a sequel listed on IMDB so who knows if we will ever get a proper ending to this mess.

The rating I am giving the film is generous believe I thought the cast did a good job so unless you are a fan of Uwe Boll's films or are just curious I cannot recommend seeing it.
