The Place For The Latest Movie Reviews
Cast: Thomas Dekker, Robert Englund, Kevin Gage, Brandon Beemer
When trauma-induced phobias begin to re-emerge in five survivors a year after their horrifying tragedy, they return to the “Fear Clinic,” hoping to find the answers they need to get cured.
Dr. Andover (Robert Englund), a fear doctor who runs the clinic, uses his “Fear Chamber” to animate their fears in the form of terrifying hallucinations. However, the good doctor soon begins to suspect that something more sinister may be at work, something that yearns to be more than just an hallucination...
"Fear Clinic" is based off the critically acclaimed and fan favorite 2009 FEARnet.com series. I was looking forward to seeing the film after watching the trailer, I have to admit that it was not as good as I had hoped but it was still an entertaining horror film.
To talk about the plot anymore here would only ruin the surprises that await but I will say that the story was engaging and interesting right from the start. You are instantly drawn into the lives of these five desperate people as they make their way back to the fear clinic seeking help and answers from the good doctor, but things have changed quite a bit. The film is not an all out scare fest because there is a good bit bit of drama as well but it does have its moments and it also gets a bit more creepy and suspenseful as it reaches the end.
I would call "Fear Clinic" a thinking man's horror film with several nice twists and amazing performances from everyone including, Robert Englund as Dr. Andover. The film was not as good as the trailer promised but it was still better than a lot of recent horror films I have seen so if you are a fan then I recommend checking it out.
