Comic artist, Reid and his pregnant fiancée, Olivia celebrate their new engagement at a remote cabin. But after a near car accident leaves them lost in the woods, they find themselves trapped on a hidden shortcut. Facing violent visions, lost memories, and a troubled hitchhiker, they discover a terrifying killer is hunting them and that the shortcut is darker and more personal than they realized.

'Drive Back' tells the story of Reid and his pregnant fiancée, Olivia, celebrating their new engagement at his parent's cabin in the middle of nowhere. You can tell that Reid is having some things on his mind he can't easily forget about, including the fact that Olivia cheated on him before. After heading home, they get lost after avoiding a bad accident. They go to a local shop to ask for directions from a creepy old lady and what seems like her dead husband. After taking her advice on a shortcut, they enter a road that doesn't seem to go anywhere. Trapped, their fragile relationship only worsens when they are hunted by a crazed madman that came out of nowhere. They must put aside their differences to find a way back out of the mess they are trapped in or die trying.

There have been numerous films like this one about a bickering couple trapped on a road, but writer Jon Sarro and director Cody Ashford come together to create something with a number of new ideas. This is Cody Ashford's feature film directorial debut, and he did a great job telling this story and keeping it moving at a nice pace.

Zack Gold and Whit Kunschik are amazing as Reid and Olivia and have great chemistry together. 'Drive Back' is a story about relationships and the good and bad that comes with it when bad decisions are made. Wrapped in a supernatural, horror, mystery, and asks more questions than it answers, but that never seems to matter with all that is going on. It is a unique, original, and thought-provoking mind-fuck of a film that I totally enjoyed. 'Drive Back' will be in theaters and on digital 11/8, so be sure to check it out.
