'Don't Turn Out the Lights' tells the story of a group of friends who have not seen each other because they have been away at college. Spring break gives them the opportunity to reunite and go on a road to a music festival. On their way they stop for gas and have a run in with a few redneck. Which ends with them getting in a fight and booking it out of there. A little later the seem lost so the stop at a bar and again it is full of rednecks. No fight this time but the are told to turn around and get back on the highway. They don't listen and continue on only to break down and soon they begin to be killed off one by one from something unknown.

The film is a lot like other road trip gone bad movies, but it also brings a lot of its own ideas to the table, making it a road trip film with a supernatural twist.

The film starts off like any other as we are introduced to the characters and their back stories. It takes awhile before the action kicks in, but once it does, it becomes a creepy, tension filled horror film that has some blood and scares to keep you at the edge of your seat the entire time. The cast including, Bella DeLong, Amber Janea, Ana Luz Zambrana, John Bucy, Crystal Lake Evans, Jarrett Austin Brown and Daryl Tofa all give amazing performances, and Director, Andy Fickman does a great job keeping the film moving at a fast pace while building on the atmosphere and suspense all the way to its shocking end. Based on his own real life events. If that isn't reason enough to check it out, nothing is.

'Don't Turn Out the Lights' starts off as a joyride and turns into hell. It is a perfect choice for this Halloween season and and one that should do well with strong word of mouth when it comes to VOD - September 6, 2024. A bone chilling horror that gets in your head and under your skin.
