The Place For The Latest Movie Reviews
Cast: Missy Peregrym, Olivier Martinez, Manny Montana, Kick Gurry
Cybergeddon follows the story of agent Chloe Jocelyn as she investigates a slew of seemingly unrelated cyber attacks with fellow agent Frank Parker and incarcerated master hacker Chase Rabbit Rosen. Chloe and her team must crack the worldwide cybercrime ring led by Gustov Dobreff before it is too late. In a world where everyone is connected, everyone is at risk.
"Cybergeddon" is the second web series I got to review this week. This one premiered online back in 2012 on Yahoo. I am no expert but I would say the story was both realistic at times and a bit unbelievable at other times but that was to be expected. The basic storyline here focuses on a FBI Special Agent Chloe Jocelyn who is forced to go on the run to prove her innocence. With the agency hot on her trail she has to work fast and hard to find who is behind the attacks. It does not take long before Chloe discovers that Gustov Dobreff, a ruthless cybercriminal and the man she already put behind bars once is behind it all and wants some revenge as well. Chloe seeks the help of Chase 'Rabbit' Rosen, a former black hat and hacking specialist.
Understanding that this was a web series I was not expecting a lot from it but I was pleasantly surprised by how good and entertaining the film was. For starters you would never know this was a web series by watching because it because plays out as a full length movie with no obvious breaks or pauses. "Cybergeddon" to me was a fast moving, intelligent cyber thriller that has plenty of suspense and action as well as a good dose of humor tossed as well.
Another impressive thng about the film was the acting, Missy Peregrym is amazing as Chloe. She is a real beauty and she handles the action scenes with ease. Olivier Martinez is excellent as well as the villain but it was Kick Gurry that stole my attention as Rabbit, he also provided most of the needed comedy in the film as well.
"Cybergeddon" is a solid action thriller that entertains from beginning to end so be sure to check it out. I hope to see a lot more of Missy Peregrym as well as the rest of the cast soon. The film is left open so hopefully they do another in the near future. Available now on DVD, you can order it HERE.
