An undercover journalist travels to small-town Mansionville attempting to expose its dark secrets. He quickly discovers the town is home to a cult of five twisted sisters who capture men for a sadistic yearly ritual.
"Bleeding Hearts" is brought to you by the same people that made "Scavenger Killers." If you are familiar with the latter then you already know what to expect from "Bleeding Hearts." The film shares a lot of the same craziness but it stands by itself as well by introducing us to a totally different story, characters and it's own brand of chaos.
I am not going to go into any major plot details here so not to ruin the film for those waiting to see it but I can give you a brief plot outline. "Bleeding Hearts" tells the story of the Van Houten sisters. Each one is in a different profession, you have a doctor, lawyer, pharmacist, architect and a shoe model. Every year the sisters go on a month long vacation from Mansionville and at the same time five men from the town disappear. The townsfolk depend on the sisters so much that they hardly notice the missing men. When a journalist comes to town to do a documentary things begin to get a little more deadly.
I loved this film as much as I loved the film makers last film. Director, Dylan Bank and Writers, Kenneth Del Vecchio and Rachael Robbins combine again for an original, outrageous horror film that delivers on laughs and mayhem. The film wastes no time getting started, The sisters decide to meet for dinner which is the perfect opportunity to introduce each one of them. These ladies are as deadly as they are beautiful but you cannot take your eyes off them every time they are on screen. I recommend this to every Indie horror fan out there, "Bleeding Hearts" is an over-the-top gore fest, it is sick, twisted, funny and just brilliant.
Many of the same actors that were in the film maker's last film return here but everyone in the film did a fantastic job including, Dustin Diamond, Robert Loggia, Charles Durning, Tony Todd, Suzi Lorraine, Rachael Robbins, Robert Bogue, Jamie White, Seregon O'dassey and the gorgeous and talented Melantha Blackthorne. This group of film makers really know what horror fans want and they are not afraid to push the limit and up the bar, I cannot wait to see what they have in store for us next time. There is a lot to love here including a clever story that introduces several very cool twists along the way. I found the film to be extremely entertaining and I recommend checking it out when it comes to DVD February 3rd with Special Features that include:
