The Place For The Latest Movie Reviews
Cast: Nat Wolff, Selena Gomez, Heather Graham, Mary Louise Parker, Elizabeth Shue
18 year old Rick Stevens is willing to do whatever it takes to win the heart of Nina Pennington. In his quest to land the girl of his dreams, he has to contend with her psycho ex, his best friends horny mother, a manic strip club manager, a perverted principal, a lecherous priest, his suicidal mother, and a patron saint with a camel toe. No one ever said love was easy.
The above synopsis pretty much covers everything you need to know before watching this. "Behaving Badly" is another raunchy teen movie but for the most part it works but not because of its two main leads, Nat Wolff and Selena Gomez. Not that Wolff and Gomez were bad in it but because of the outrageous characters the supporting cast plays. Elizabeth Shue, Mary-Louise Parker and Dylan McDermott are all fantastic in the film and extremely funny. Toss in a cameo from the always outrageous Gary Busey and you have a flawed but entertaining R-rated comedy.
I have seen better comedies before but I did find myself laughing out loud several times during the film. The film was made in 2012 but not released until this year for whatever reason but that is normally not a good sign. It did not get a theatrical release either but the R rating most likely had a lot to do with that.
I did not love the movie but I did get a few laughs from it and I really enjoyed seeing the supporting cast playing such over the top characters, they looked like they had a lot of fun with it and it translated back to the audience. If you like this sort of comedy then check it but if you get offended easily with sex talk and nudity then I recommend you skip this and move on.
Available on DVD now, you can order it HERE.
I have seen a lot better films but I have also seen a lot worse, I was not expecting a lot from it so to come out of it with a few laughs made it an entertaining watch.
