A young inventor named Andy, reaches out to his neighbor Doctor Frankenstein to help him win the upcoming science fair. But, finding the Doctor not to be at home, he meets the next best thing, Frankenstein's monster; who turns out to be a teenager like himself. While Frankenstein takes Andy's place on the football team, Andy uses Frankenstein s knowledge and lab to find an invention for the fair. But when he inadvertently creates a monster of his own, they must work together to save the town and Halloween!

Just in time for Halloween comes "A Monsterous Holiday" about a young inventor, Andy who wants to win this year's science fair more than anything. The problem is his dad wants him to be on school's football team like his older brother more than anything. Desperate because everything he attempts to invent blows up Andy decides to visit Dr. Frankenstein in hopes of getting some help but instead of finding the Doctor he finds the Doctor's monster instead, a young boy who is just the opposite of Andy, Frank wants to go outside and when he finds out Andy is on the football team he also tells him how much he loves it and would love to play. So Andy comes up with the idea of Frank replacing him on the football team which in turn would give Andy more time to work on his invention. All things go as planned until Andy helps one of the Doctor's other creations to escape, now he must seek help from Frank to subdue the creature before it is too late.

Geared mainly towards kids the film is a fun little monster fest that is never scary, it is about as friendly a "Monster" film for kids you are going to find. Like I said it is aimed more towards children but I did get a few laughs myself from it as well. If I had one problem with t he film it was its runtime which clocks in at 44 minutes, I understand this was made to be a TV movie but I wish it were a bit longer.

Despite its short runtime the film fits in a lot of action and adventure as well as plenty of laughs. Another thing it has going for it is its terrific cast which includes, Brooke Shields, Jon Heder, Sean Astin, Matthew Lillard, Drake Bell and Kyle Chandler, each and everyone did a great job at brining these fun characters to life. "A Monsterous Holiday" is a film all kids will enjoy over and over again so this is a must own for anyone with children. Available on VOD & DVD, you can order the DVD HERE.
