Ho, ho, no! The joyful spirit of the holidays is about to take one dark turn after another. From sadistic office parties and last-minute shopping nightmares, to vengeful stalkers and immortal demons, there’s plenty out there to keep you from getting out of bed to see what’s under the tree this holiday season. Constance Wu (Crazy Rich Asians) and Jonathan Kite (“2 Broke Girls”) headline a sensational ensemble cast in this devilish stocking stuffer of a movie.

When an awkward date on Christmas Eve leads a couple into a strange theater, they're treated to a bizarre and frightening collection of Christmas stories, featuring a wide ensemble of characters doing their best to avoid the horrors of the holidays. From boring office parties and last-minute shopping, to vengeful stalkers and immortal demons, there's plenty out there to fear this holiday season.

'All the Creatures Were Stirring' may not be a perfect horror anthology but it does have a number of entertaining stories. Like any anthology some of the stories are going to be better than others and that stands true for this film as well but over all I found it to be quite entertaining.

Starting off with, “The Stockings Were Hung,” a story I can best describe as an office Christmas party gone horribly wrong. The second story is called, "Dash Away All," It tells the story of a man who gets stranded after locking his keys in his car after shopping for gifts on Christmas Eve. The third story is called, "All Through the House,” it tells the story of a modern day scrooge who learns a tough lesson about the joy of Christmas in a frightening and funny way. The fourth story is called, “Arose Such A Clatter,” which deals with a man who is driving home in the snow when he hits an animal and decides to shoot it to get it out of its misery but what he doesn't know is someone or something is watching. And Last but not least is, “In A Twinkling,” It tells the story of Steve, who is getting ready for an event that happens to him on a regular basis when he is all of a sudden surprised by a group of friends who refuse to let him be alone for Christmas but what they don't know is they really are not alone.

If I had to say which stories I enjoyed the most they would have to be the first three. The last two were enjoyable as well but not as much as the first three were. David Ian McKendry and Rebekah McKendry wrote and directed the film together and I thought they did a great job with the stories and giving the over all film a bit of an original spin to it.

Another thing that made the film good was the cast. The film has a great cast including, Constance Wu, Jonathan Kite, Jocelin Donahue and the always amazing Maria Olsen to name only a few of the terrific cast members.

"All the Creatures Were Stirring" is an entertaining film that brings with it murder, blood, demons, ghosts and even a vengeful, familiar reindeer. If you like your Christmas movies with a little mayhem along with laughs then be sure to check this out when it comes to DVD on 12/4/18.
