Two couples head to a secluded desert hideaway for a weekend of relaxation and, unbeknownst to their friends, uneasy revelations. When they arrive, each couple is met by the same eccentric couple, claiming to have booked the rental on the same day at the same time. As two local police officers are drawn into the evening's strange and unpredictable events, depravity and derangement begin to consume everyone at the house. What begins as miscommunication soon descends in mayhem and bloody murder.
'8 Found Dead' tells the story of two couples who are meeting at a rental home for the weekend. Sam and Dwayne are the first couple to arrive because Carrie and Ricky are running later and won't arrive to later. Sam is a social media celebrity who has called for this weekend to announce a few things but after they arrive they find out that the rental is already occupied buy an older couple who claim the space as theirs.
This is where the story begins as the young couple try to explain that they rented the home but the older, strange couple are deviant. The story is told through four points of view and by the two officers who are called to the scene later that evening.
Director, Travis Greene takes the clever script by Jonathan Buchanan and create a unique and engaging thriller that grabs your interest right from the start and it keeps you on the edge of your seat the entire time. Another thing that makes the movie so good is the incredible cast of characters including Aly Trasher (What's My Name Again?), Alisha Soper (American Horror Story), William Gabriel Grier (The Stalking Fields), Eddy Acosta (5 Years Gone), Rosanne Limeres (1000 Ways to Die), Tim Simek (Viral), and Nancy Linehan Charles (Minority Report). The film is dramatic and at times comical but its more that disturbing comedy that gets in your head.
'8 Found Dead' is an original take on slasher films. I was hook right from the start and enjoyed every second of it. It is a relentless assault and it carries you through with its tension and suspense that keeps you wanting more. This is easily the best film I have seen this year and one of the most entertaining I have seen in a long time. Coming to Theaters & VOD on September 8, 2023 from Dark Sky Films. I cannot recommend this wildly disturbing film with some of the best acting around. Mark it mark and do not miss seeing this gem of a horror/thriller when it comes out.
