35 And Ticking centers around the lives of Victoria, Zenobia , Clevon, and Phil--all friends approaching the age of 35 and struggling to build the families they've always dreamed of. While Zenobia (Nicole Ari Parker, Soul Food, Brown Sugar) is still looking for a man, Victoria (Tamala Jones, Castle, One on One) is married to a man who doesn't want children. Clevon (Kevin Hart, Not Easily Broken, 40 Year-Old Virgin), meanwhile, is too geeky to get a woman, and Phil (Keith Robinson, Dreamgirls) is already married with children, but his wife is not very interested in being a mother. All four of them try to rectify their romantic lives and futures while their biological clocks tick away.
"35 and Ticking" had a small theatrical run so I'm sure not many people heard of it before now but that is sure to change now that it's on home video. I'm sure it will preform well from strong word of mouth.
The story centers on four friends who are hitting that age and point in their lives when decisions have to be made. Each has their own concerns, ambitions and dreams of their future. From the outside the film might look like any other Urban comedy but it's much more than just that. This is a drama centering on four very real characters with real problems facing them and the film is full of very realistic situations, but there's is also a nice amount of comedy tossed in as well to lighten things up a bit. The comedy and drama are mixed together very well and the story is touching, thought-provoking and at times hilarious.
Director, Russ Parr does a terrific job in telling each character's story in detail and blends them all together flawlessly. The cast here is another reason to celebrate, Parr has assembled a terrific cast that includes, Tamala Jones, Nicole Ari Parker, Keith Robinson, Wendy Raquel Robinson and Kevin Hart. Each actor really brings their character to life giving them emotions so deep that you can't help but care for them.

You're not going to get a complete happy ending here but that's because the film's characters are realistic and like in real life somethings things at times just don't work out as planned. Everyone involved should be proud of the film they created here, "35 and Ticking" is a wonderful film about real life situations, it's touching, sad and often funny and in the end it's highly entertaining.
